energy revolution to Africa , by Neha Misra, Director of Programs and
Development at Solar Sister, 17 June 2011 Solar Sister is an organisation that
builds a network of women solar entrepreneurs to address energy poverty. The
organisation provides clean energy to rural women by empowering them
economically and making them the key players in the provision of technology
solutions, therefore also bridging the women-technology gap.

ReplyDeleteI think this project is a very brilliant and promissing. Given that women constitute the majority of the population, the project gives African women the opportunity to develop themselves socially, economically, and technologically. Energy is a major issue in Africa, especially in rural areas. As such, Solar Sister's initiative aims to improve the energy situation by creating a network of women entrepreneurs to boost the exploitation of solar energy, so that everyone can have electricity.
If the network is well organized and strongly supported, I believe that this project will be a major factor in local development.
