Project Summary:
School in the cloud is one of the innovative idea that made Sugat Mitra the initiator TED Prize award 2013 .His innovation was the effort towards advancing learning for children all over the world .The main idea behind this innovation is ,group of children if given access to the internet can learn almost anything by themselves. The program contributes in practicing SOLE (Self-Organized Learning Environment).The basic principal behind SOLE is freedom to learn collaboratively using the internet. In SOLE session students are left free in a room with computer, internet access and are allowed free to move around ,share ideas, change group where the teachers main task is just to ask them the BIG question. Big question are the interesting question that fires children’s imagination and curiosity that makes them want to discover answer to the BIG question aim to encourage deep and long conversation rather than finding answer. There is also the component called granny cloud. The granny cloud contains the volunteers who halos to interact with children in SOLE Innovation in Education.session .These people try to stimulate curiosity, develop confidence and have fun learning things.In conclusion the idea is to let the children learn by themselves using sources instead of classical education system of making children learn something unwillingly.

ReplyDeleteThe project ‘school in the cloud ‘ is a brilliant idea , and it definitely has exploited the human advancing in technology in the best way which is education , encouraging children to learn and firing their curiosity in order to enjoy learning is a great method , nobody likes classical education nowadays , it makes kids bored and forced to learn things unwillingly as you said , in conclusion I’d say brilliant ideas and great goals

The project offers tremendous development opportunities for children, as it intends to
take of advantage of internet to allow them strive intellectually and socially.
The project's perspective would give the children to broaden their imagination; make them more curious and eager to learn.
As such, in contrast with conventional educational system, the incorporation of SOLE
within the 'School of Cloud' project would allow the children to develop themselves in
multiple aspects, especially education, social interaction, personality.
In a nutshell, I think that 'School in the Cloud' offers a very innovative approach to education and personal development
for children. The project should be expanded to other areas of the world such as Asia and Africa.

Schhol in the cloud sounds really perfect. Probably it is a good step, to fight the problems of worldwide education. Unfortunately there were more and more articles in newspapers in the last time, which said, that the system is not working like wished. Hopefully this offer will be improved in future. Paul Stellwag
